Tach, ihr Maggots. Jetzt steht mal kurz auf, nehmt euren eisenharten Stock aus dem Hintern, schluckt ein paar Baldrian und setzt euch wieder. Es ist ja kaum auszuhalten, was ihr schon im Vorfeld zu "Subliminal Verses" an Unsinn verzapft habt. Jetzt steht sie endlich in den Läden, die Platte auf die ihr euch so lange gefreut habt. Und was passiert? "Das hat nichts mehr mit Slipknot zu tun", bäh bäh bäh bäh bäh. Seid ihr nun Hart- oder beleidigte Leberwürste? Jetzt, da der Neuner aus Iowa zum ersten Mal so etwas wie gut strukturierte Songs aufs Volk loslässt, steht ihr in der Ecke und flennt euch einen ab? Kaum zu fassen das.

Aber ist schon klar. Eine Band ist genau dann scheiße, wenn sie ihren Horizont erweitert, nicht mehr nur stupide, bereits vorgekaute Rezepte - seien es auch ihre eigenen - wieder käut. Die letzte, aus den innersten Slipknot-Eingeweiden hochgewürgte Grütze namens "Iowa" bestach denn auch meist nur dadurch, repetitiv die Erfolgsformel von "Slipknot" nachzubeten. Das soll dann toll sein? Maggots, geht kacken, denn "Vol.3" zieht den beiden Vorgängern, was Einfallsreichtum anbelangt, eben locker die Hosen aus.

Gut, für geistige Dünnpfiffler ist ein Opener wie "Prelude 3.0.", in dem für Maskenball-Verhältnisse erst einmal gar nichts passiert, ziemlich verstörend. Aber lasst euch gesagt sein, es ist nie zu spät, you know, lebenslanges Lernen und so? Genau, Bingo! Ups, Corey schreit sich nicht mehr nur die Lunge nach außen. Ich sage da: sehr schön, endlich besinnt sich der Typ auf etwas anderes, als Knüppelorgien mit monotonem Gekreische zu untermalen.

"The Blister Exists" ist so ein Ding, bei dem ihr genau hinhören dürft, warum Slipknot anno 2004 endlich die Berechtigung haben, mit inflationär vielen Musikern auf der Bühne zu stehen. Was für eine Rhythmus-Granate. Da isses mir ziemlich Schwanz, ob das Album von Stone Sour beeinflusst klingt oder ob Simon & Garfunkel im Background singen. Neue Masken braucht das Land anscheinend, denn mit dem Design der neuen Gesichtsverhüller hält unerwartet die Kreativität Einzug in den Zirkus. Ob dabei ein gewisser Slayer- und Johnny Cash-Produzent die Finger mit im Spiel hatte? Stark anzunehmen. Also, liebe Maggots, Briefbomben und andere hübsche Sachen bitte an den Bärtigen.

Noch eine Sache. Bevor hier wieder irgendwelche Sumpfhühner anfangen, vom leidigen 'Kommerz' dumm zu faseln: Kommerz ist, genau das zu tun, was alle erwarten, und hängt beileibe nicht davon ab, ob eine Band nun balladeske Töne in ihren Sound integriert, weniger heftig aufs Gaspedal tritt oder Bernd das Brot als Gastsänger auftaucht. "Circle", "Vermillion" und "Vermillion Pt. 2" sind da hervorragende Beispiele. Keine Blast-Parts? Mir doch egal, sind trotzdem geile Songs. "Subliminal" bedeutet übrigens unterschwellig. Da seid ihr, liebe Jammerlappen-Maggots, einfach selbst Schuld, wenn ihr Unterschwelligkeit nicht versteht. Tschüss!

Tach, ihr Maggots. Jetzt steht mal kurz auf, nehmt euren eisenharten Stock aus dem Hintern, schluckt ein paar Baldrian und setzt euch wieder. Es ist ja kaum auszuhalten, was ihr schon im Vorfeld zu "Subliminal Verses" an Unsinn verzapft habt. Jetzt steht sie endlich in den Läden, die Platte auf die ihr euch so lange gefreut habt. Und was passiert? "Das hat nichts mehr mit Slipknot zu tun", bäh bäh bäh bäh bäh. Seid ihr nun Hart- oder beleidigte Leberwürste? Jetzt, da der Neuner aus Iowa zum ersten Mal so etwas wie gut strukturierte Songs aufs Volk loslässt, steht ihr in der Ecke und flennt euch einen ab? Kaum zu fassen das.

Aber ist schon klar. Eine Band ist genau dann scheiße, wenn sie ihren Horizont erweitert, nicht mehr nur stupide, bereits vorgekaute Rezepte - seien es auch ihre eigenen - wieder käut. Die letzte, aus den innersten Slipknot-Eingeweiden hochgewürgte Grütze namens "Iowa" bestach denn auch meist nur dadurch, repetitiv die Erfolgsformel von "Slipknot" nachzubeten. Das soll dann toll sein? Maggots, geht kacken, denn "Vol.3" zieht den beiden Vorgängern, was Einfallsreichtum anbelangt, eben locker die Hosen aus.

Gut, für geistige Dünnpfiffler ist ein Opener wie "Prelude 3.0.", in dem für Maskenball-Verhältnisse erst einmal gar nichts passiert, ziemlich verstörend. Aber lasst euch gesagt sein, es ist nie zu spät, you know, lebenslanges Lernen und so? Genau, Bingo! Ups, Corey schreit sich nicht mehr nur die Lunge nach außen. Ich sage da: sehr schön, endlich besinnt sich der Typ auf etwas anderes, als Knüppelorgien mit monotonem Gekreische zu untermalen.

"The Blister Exists" ist so ein Ding, bei dem ihr genau hinhören dürft, warum Slipknot anno 2004 endlich die Berechtigung haben, mit inflationär vielen Musikern auf der Bühne zu stehen. Was für eine Rhythmus-Granate. Da isses mir ziemlich Schwanz, ob das Album von Stone Sour beeinflusst klingt oder ob Simon & Garfunkel im Background singen. Neue Masken braucht das Land anscheinend, denn mit dem Design der neuen Gesichtsverhüller hält unerwartet die Kreativität Einzug in den Zirkus. Ob dabei ein gewisser Slayer- und Johnny Cash-Produzent die Finger mit im Spiel hatte? Stark anzunehmen. Also, liebe Maggots, Briefbomben und andere hübsche Sachen bitte an den Bärtigen.

Noch eine Sache. Bevor hier wieder irgendwelche Sumpfhühner anfangen, vom leidigen 'Kommerz' dumm zu faseln: Kommerz ist, genau das zu tun, was alle erwarten, und hängt beileibe nicht davon ab, ob eine Band nun balladeske Töne in ihren Sound integriert, weniger heftig aufs Gaspedal tritt oder Bernd das Brot als Gastsänger auftaucht. "Circle", "Vermillion" und "Vermillion Pt. 2" sind da hervorragende Beispiele. Keine Blast-Parts? Mir doch egal, sind trotzdem geile Songs. "Subliminal" bedeutet übrigens unterschwellig. Da seid ihr, liebe Jammerlappen-Maggots, einfach selbst Schuld, wenn ihr Unterschwelligkeit nicht versteht. Tschüss!
