Oni

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, progressive metal band Oni was founded by vocalist Jake Oni, alongside Martin Andres (guitar), Brandon White (guitar), Chase Bryant (bass), Johnny D (xylosynth), and Joe Greulich (drums). Emerging in 2014, Oni swiftly rose as a promising force in Canada's music scene, blending experimental progressive songcraft with robust metalcore intensity and emotive melody. Their debut arrived in the form of the 2016 album Ironshore, helmed by producer Josh Wilbur (known for work with Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, and Dillinger Escape Plan). The album notably featured guest vocals by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe on the track, "The Only Cure." Continuing their momentum, Oni released the powerful Alone EP in 2019, returning in 2022 with “The Lie,” with Jake Oni listed as the sole credited member. The critically acclaimed second full-length album, Loathing Light, dropped in the same year, spotlighting guest appearances by Iggy Pop and Blythe on the track, "Secrets." In 2023, Oni unveiled "Silence In A Room Of Lies," and "Aura" followed by “Silhouette” which reached number 38 on the US Mainstream Rock charts, preceding of the release of third studio album, The Silver Line which appeared in October that year.
