J.D.

Lingua disponibile: inglese
Originally a songwriter for Diddy, Lil Wayne, Sean Kingston, and Danity Kane, Jason Derulo became one of America's biggest R&B solo artists during the 2010s. Born in Miramar, Florida, on September 21, 1989, he learned his trade at performing arts schools and wrote his first song at the age of 16. Derulo sampled Imogen Heap's track "Hide and Seek" for his debut single, "Whatcha Say," which shot to Number 1 on the US pop and R&B charts in 2009. His follow-up single, "In My Head," became a chart-topping hit in the UK, and he solidified his place in the global pop landscape with his sophomore album, 2011's Future History.

Disaster struck in 2012, however, when he slipped while rehearsing a dance routine and fractured a vertebrae in his neck. Supported by girlfriend Jordin Sparks, it took him over a year to fully recover. He returned with the Top 5 album Tattoos in 2013 and scored his third chart-topping British hit with "Talk Dirty." 2015's Everything Is 4 spawned the international hit song "Want to Want Me," while the standalone single "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)" became a Number 1 hit in more than a dozen countries, including the US and the UK. Released in 2020, the song was followed later that year by another global single, "Take You Dancing."
