Recorded at Prince's Paisley Park studios, Scrawl's sophomore effort He's Drunk is nevertheless a raw, bare-bones effort delivered with remarkable assurance; Marcy Mays' songs -- particularly "Ready" -- are wild yet mature, her lyrics grounded in the reality of everyday existence. Rough Trade's 1988 CD edition also includes the trio's debut, Plus, Also, Too.
