Towa Bird

Singer/songwriter Towa Bird makes hooky, guitar-based pop infused with her bold declarations of queer love and identity. She debuted in 2023 with the romantic, infectious anthems "Wild Heart" and "Boomerang." Born in 1999 in Hong Kong, China, Bird (who is half-Filipino and half-English) grew up in Thailand and London. She began playing guitar at age 12 and quickly discovered classic rock via her father's record collection. She formed her first band as a teenager and was already a seasoned performer by the time she entered Goldsmiths, University of London. After just two years of study, she left school to focus on music and initially gained a foothold co-writing songs for other artists. At the same time, she built a loyal social media following, posting videos of herself soloing along to pop and R&B hits. In April 2023, she released her debut single, the catchy "Wild Heart," which was produced by Thom Powers of the Naked and Famous. A second single, "Boomerang," arrived that June.
