Shashwat Singh

Shashwat Singh (born October 16, 1990 in Prayagraj , India), is an Indian playback singer. At an early age, Singh began composing music with his brother on a fusion of music and poetry, dubbed Plasmafaith. After the project was shelved, Singh was offered an internship with well-known sound engineer Nitin Joshi, enrolling into the KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) run by famed composer A.R Rahman, shortly after, where he studied voice and piano and performing in Indian a cappella collective NAFS. After a successful audition with Rahman, Singh released his debut playback single “Wat Wat Wat” (2015), following this with “Ruby Ruby” (2018) and “Tui Chara” (2019) before being invited to perform the lead tracks in Hindi film 99 Songs (2019). Making a name for himself as an indie singer, Singh went on to release “Yun Kyun” (2020), and “Mawaali Dil” (2020), sharing the stage with famed Indian singer Arijit Singh during his world tour. In October 2022, Singh released a remix of “Kiska Rasta Dekhen” from the popular Hindi compilation album Monsoon Blues.
