SB19

Filipino boy band SB19 are known for their hooky, hip-hop-influenced dance-oriented P-pop. They debuted with Get in the Zone in 2020 and became the first Southeast Asian act to be nominated for a Billboard Music Award. They have continued to garner chart buzz with their 2023 EPs Pagsibol and Pagtatag! Hailing from Manila, SB19 was formed in 2018 by ShowBT Philippines, a subsidiary of the South Korean ShowBT Group management company. SB19 features the talents of Pablo Nase (leader, main rapper, lead vocalist, chief songwriter, and producer), Josh Santos (lead rapper & sub-vocalist), Stellvester "Stell" Ajero (main vocalist, lead dancer, & main choreographer), Felip "Ken" Susan (lead vocalist & main dancer), and Justin Dios (sub-vocalist & main visual & creative director). The group formed after a rigorous audition and training school program in the K-pop and P-pop traditions which kicked off in 2016. While they released their debut single, "Tilaluha," in 2018, it was a 2019 viral video of the group practicing their dance routine for the song "Go Up" that garnered wider public interest. Both songs were included on the group's full-length debut album, 2020's Get in the Zone. A year later, they released their first EP, Pagsibol, which featured the songs "What?," "Mapa," and "Bazinga," the latter of which hit number 14 on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart. Also that year, they became the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act nominated in Billboard Music Awards for Top Social Artist. In 2023, they returned with a second EP, Pagtatag! It was the group's first release since parting ways with ShowBT and forming their own 1Z Entertainment label. Included on the album was the song "Gento," which hit number eight on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart.
