Mickaël Miro

A modern-day purveyor of the traditional French chanson, Mickaël Miro's simple acoustic tales of love and warm gentle vocals neatly filled the void left by fellow chanteur Jean-Jacques Goldman's ten-year absence. Born in Lyon in 1979, Miro, who used his late grandfather's name as a tribute, originally had no intentions of forging a music career, but after graduating from his hometown's university with a degree in business law, he moved to Paris, where he began to play in the city's jazz bars. Inspired by the likes of Francis Cabrel and Michel Berger, he started writing his own songs, and in 2007 provided vocals for Les Marguerites Contre Alzheimer's "J'y Etais Pas." After signing a deal with Mercury Records, he supported Justin Nozuka and Zazie on their European tours, and in 2011 released his debut album, Juste Comme Ça, which featured hit single "L'Horloge Tourne" and the title track collaboration with Francophone singer/songwriter Natasha St-Pier.
