Metallic Taste Of Blood

Metallic Taste of Blood are a band of restless experimentalists who explore the outer margins of instrumental rock, avant-garde jazz, dub, and experimental electronic music. Led by guitarist Eraldo Bernocchi (Sigillum S, Owls) and bassist Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree, Ex-Wise Heads), two musicians who linked up with roughly 50 years of combined recorded experience, Metallic Taste of Blood debuted in 2012 with a self-titled album. The lineup was filled out with drummer Balázs Pándi, a Merzbow associate who'd previously played with Bernocchi and Edwin as Obake, and keyboardist Jamie Saft, whose past included work with John Zorn and Wadada Leo Smith, among many others. For second album Doctoring the Dead, a more menacing set issued three years later, Bernocchi and Edwin were joined by another pair of underground veterans: drummer Ted Parsons (Swans, Prong) and keyboardist Roy Powell (InterStatic, Naked Truth). Both Metallic Taste of Blood albums were released on RareNoise, a label operated by Bernocchi and Giacomo Bruzzo.
