Jo Sung Mo
Korean pop ballad singer Jo Sung-mo (Korean: 조성모) was born on 11 March 1977 and kicked off his career in 1998 with the album To Heaven, going on to score several of the all-time best-selling albums in South Korea. Released the following year, his second LP For Your Soul reached the summit of the South Korean album chart and marked the beginning of a hot streak that would continue throughout the 2000s, with a string of Top five albums from 2000's Classic to the hat-trick of number-ones that was Let Me Love (2000), No More Love (2001), A Singer (歌人) (2003) and My First, which went to number five in 2005. Unsurprisingly, he has been the recipient of both the Album Grand Prize and the Album Main Prize at the Golden Disc Awards an impressive six times between the years 1999 and 2005. He has also won five Seoul Music Awards to date, including 1998's New Artist Award. After a few years' break, the album Second Half arrived in 2009 and the Meet Brave EP followed in 2010. Four years later he unveiled the Wind of Change EP, which went to number nine on South Korea's Circle Chart. He has continued to release music for soundtracks including 2014's Endless Love, 2018's Man Who Sets the Table, 2019's Home for Summer. 2021 saw the release of the single "달빛 경주."
