Avion Roe

American rock band Avion Roe emerged in the early 2010s with their fiery debut album, The Art of Fiction. After signing with Epitaph, they issued their emotive breakthrough set, 2016's In Separation, which channeled predecessors like Dashboard Confessional and Jimmy Eat World. After an extended hiatus, the group returned in 2021 with the Unreleased EP. Formed in Dallas, Texas, by vocalist Evan Couture and drummer Josh Cutlip, Avion Roe's founding lineup also counted bassist Sean Humphrey and guitarist Jordan Modro. With an early sound reminiscent of Yellowcard and the Used, the band recorded their self-produced debut LP, The Art of Fiction, in 2011 after only four months in the studio, building an audience on the Vans Warped Tour with energetic and physical live shows that incorporated climbing the rafters and swinging microphones. With their increased exposure, Avion Roe signed with Epitaph Records in September 2015 and further developed their style and sonic vision. Their debut single for the label, "Into the Rest," featured labelmate Sleeping with Sirens' Kellin Quinn. That track landed on 2016's In Separation, which featured a more uplifting, anthemic sound. Produced by Couture, Modro, and Kris Crummett (Issues, Sleeping with Sirens), the mature set also featured "This Loneliness." In the late 2010s, the band stepped away from the spotlight, returning in 2021 with the Unreleased EP.
