Alexander Abraham

Stirring together rustic folk blues, retro-soul, and undercurrents of contemporary R&B, Fort Worth, Texas-based artist Abraham Alexander creates a mellow but powerful style all his own. He began releasing music under his own name in 2019 with a string of singles and a self-titled EP that same year. Alexander continued putting out new songs from there, bringing in Gary Clark Jr. as a guest on a 2022 remix of his song "Stay" and issuing the organ-driven soul ballad "Tears Run Dry" ahead of his 2023 debut album, Sea/Sons. Alexander was born in Greece, but his family relocated to Texas when he was 11 years old. After he suffered a soccer injury while playing for Texas Wesleyan University, his girlfriend gifted him an acoustic guitar, and he set about learning the instrument and writing songs while he healed. Just a few years later, Alexander began recording and publicly sharing some of his tracks, starting with a bluesy cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" in April 2019. From there, he released the more modernized "Lover's Game," and "Stay." He issued a self-titled EP in September 2019 that included his two original songs and two other, previously unreleased tracks. In September 2022, Alexander revisited his song "Stay" in a new version that featured Gary Clark, Jr. The track "Heart of Gold" arrived in November 2022, and in February of the next year he released "Tears Run Dry," a single set to appear on his debut album, Sea/Sons. The set was recorded in London with producers Matt Pence and Brad Cook, and was slated for an April 2023 release on Dualtone Records.
