Die Musik von The Gaslight Anthem hatte schon immer etwas leicht Nostalgisches an sich, und mit ihrem fünften Album, dem 2014 veröffentlichten Get Hurt, blickt die Band aus New Jersey auf eine Reihe von Inspirationen zurück. Das Songwriting von Springsteen ist nach wie vor spürbar, aber diesmal wird auch ein Blick auf den Rock der Siebziger geworfen, ob auf dem Opener "Stay Vicious", der etwas klassischen Stoner-Rock einwebt, oder auf Power-Pop-Tracks wie "Helter Skeleton", der wie eine Verbeugung vor Cheap Trick anmutet. Dennoch konzentriert sich die Gruppe immer wieder auf die leisen Momente, die den emotionalen Kern ihrer Musik ausmachen. Get Hurt, das auf Platz 3 in die deutschen Charts einstieg und auch in England, Amerika, Kanada und Österreich in die Top Ten kam, ist auch als Deluxe-Edition mit 3 Bonustracks erhältlich.
