The Renovators

The Berger brothers, Al Hemberger on bass and vocals and Ted Hemberger on drums, had been getting recognition for their recordings and public performances throughout the Northeast by 1999. They own and operate the Loft Recording Studios in Bronxville, NY. They have hosted in the studio such artists as Christina Aguilera, Don Philip, Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Richard Shindell, Southside Johnny, Martika, Milo Z, Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Dave Koz, and the Skatalites. On keyboards for the Renovators, Bob Mayo can be found -- a musician who has toured and recorded with Peter Frampton, Aerosmith, Foreigner, Robert Plant, Dan Fogelberg, and Hall and Oates. A consummate renovator, when he is not renovating music in his own studio, he is renovating buildings, thus the name of the band. Sometimes he may be seen along the shores of Portland, ME tracking "The Big One," which is also the name of a song from the Renovators 1999 release, Rhythm & Blueprints. They round out their sound with the expert prowess of guitarist and close friend Bob Rasero. The Renovators use catchy guitar riffs as their hook, which is laced with humor-colored lyrics as the tempting bait. They troll the seas of many styles of music, from the calypso-reggae shores to the surf-blues shores and beyond. Just when one thinks they've put their finger on it, something smells fishy. Could it finally be "The Big One"? Hang on to your pole, if it starts to wobble chances are the Renovators are yanking on the other end and enjoying every minute of it.
