The Bridges
Formed in July of 2002, the Bridges are a pop/rock family band consisting of siblings Natalie Byrd (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Stacey Byrd (vocals, guitar), Isaaca Byrd (bass), and Jeremy Byrd (drums), along with cousin Brittany Painter (lead vocals, guitar). Originally from North Carolina, the Bridges later relocated to Oxford, AL, where the entire band moved into a house with a rehearsal space in the basement. With a bright pop sound full of three-part harmonies, the Bridges cite influences ranging from late-era Fleetwood Mac to the Beatles and Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, and the group's approach, although it draws on these classic 1960s and 1970s sources, is delightfully refreshing. The band signed with Verve Records in December 2007 and began working on a debut project with Matthew Sweet; the resulting Limits of the Sky arrived the following summer.
