Reino Nordin

Reino Nordin is an actor and musician based in Helsinki, Finland. He has appeared in several Finnish movies and TV series including 'Young Gods' (2003), 'Ganes' (2007), 'Purge' (2012) and 'Vuonna 85' (2013).

Born to a musical family, his sister the singer with the Finnish rock band Killer, Nordin's father gave each of the children an instrument, with Reino choosing a drum kit. A love of rhythm took him towards reggae music, a style that can be heard in Nordin's band Reino & The Rhinos. The band released two albums, 'Tähän Tyyliin' (2008) and 'Kohti Huomista' (2012), the latter charting at number 29 on the Finnish Albums Chart. The influence of reggae is also a strong presence on Nordin's debut solo album 'Bongo Rock' (2014), combining classic reggae vibes with the electronic sounds of club dance music plus guest verses from the Finnish rappers Jodarok, Stepa, Paper T and Kube. Greater chart success came with the release of his second album 'I Surrender' (2017) with Nordin abandoning the reggae influences in favour of a more modern electronic pop and dance sound. Charting at number one on the Finnish charts, the album also received gold status for high sales and streaming figures. Nordin continued in a similar stylistic vein for his third studio album 'Cara Mia,' released in 2019 and charting at number three.
