QUIÑ
Los Angeles-based singer Quiñ uses the term "Fantasy Soul" to describe her dreamy, seductive style of R&B. Blending smooth melodies with futuristic production, she released two independent EPs before signing with Interscope in 2019.
Born Bianca Leonor Quinoñes, Quiñ started out as a supporting vocalist, adding her dreamlike vocals to rapper G-Eazy's ethereal track "Think About You" in 2015. Following this feature, the singer immediately began work on her solo career, coining the term "Fantasy Soul" for her unique blend of spacy ambient textures, jazz-inflected melodies, and swaying vocal harmonies. Her debut EP, Galactica, materialized in 2016, including several singles such as "Math" and "Over Again," on which G-Eazy returned the favor by adding a guest verse. She followed the next year with her second EP release, Dreamgirl. The five-song EP included lead single "Sticky Situation," a keys-driven R&B workout featuring guest vocals by Odd Future affiliate Syd. Following the 2018 single "Remind Me," Quiñ signed with Interscope and launched her own Fantasy Soul imprint. Her first major-label release was the mysterious single "Mushroom Chocolate," a duet with 6LACK.
