Montez

Montez (born April 7, 1994 in Bielefeld) is a German-Spanish singer and rapper. Born Luca Manuel Montesinos Gargallo, Montez wrote his first rap lyrics and songs as a teenager. In 2010, Montez released the mixtape Punchlines eines Melancholikers. This immediately attracts attention in the hip-hop scene and he is awarded the prize in the Newcomer of the Year category by the scene platforms Hiphop.de and Juice. A short time later, Montez joins Essah Entertainment, the record label of German rapper Kool Savas. His first album, Karneval, was released in 2011. This is followed by another label switch to Über die Grenze. The owner is the German rapper Vega. Montez releases his second album Für immer und eh weg on this label. With So macht die Sonne das auch, Montez released another album in 2017. After the EP Kokon (2019), the artist is signed by the record label Universal in 2020. In 2021, Montez achieved his commercial breakthrough and his first number 1 placement in Germany. His single "Auf & Ab" reached the top position in the German singles charts and also landed in the top 10 in Austria and Switzerland. Montez also made it into the German charts in the same year with the songs "Immer Wenn Ich Gehen Will" and "Mond". In 2021, together with fellow rapper Capital Bra, he scored another hit with "Ein Jahr", which reached number 4 in the German charts. With his fourth studio album Herzinfucked, Montez made it into the top 10 of the German album charts in 2022. One year later, Montez released his next album, Liebe in Gefahr. The rapper makes it to number 1 in the German charts.
