Mc Kekel
Kelson Rodrigues is better known by his stage name, MC Kekel, as a singer on the Sao Paulo funk scene with upwards of 800 million YouTube views under his belt. He was born in the Guaianases neighbourhood of São Paulo on July 10th, 1995. He began performing in 2012 and spent several years working on his craft before his breakout in 2016. When he released 'Quera do de Meiota?' with the help of Perera DJ he quickly gained traction and soon built on the success with singles including 'Piranha', 'Baile da DZ7' and, with the help of producer Kondzilla, 'Partiu' and 'Namorar pra que?'
Kekel gained mainstream attention when he released a parody of 'Partiu' to celebrate the 2016 Brazilian Football Championship and Palmeiras midfielder Moisés sang verses of the song during an interview. 2016 also saw the release of his self-titled debut album, further cementing him as a fixture on the Brazilian funk scene.
Over the course of his career MC Kekel has worked with artists including the likes of Ludmilla, Luan Santana, Lucas Lucco, Buchecha and the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Jowell and Randy.
In November 2018 Kekel signed a deal with Brazilian label Som Livre.
