Martin Brygmann

Martin Brygmann is a Danish comedian and songwriter who rose to national fame around the turn of the century. Brygmann's Bedste Sange, a collection of his best songs as performed by himself and others, was released in 2009 and was a Top Five hit in Denmark. Born on January 25, 1963 in Kølvrå, Denmark, Brygmann initially established himself as an actor during the 1990s with both film and television appearances. As a songwriter, he proved most successful as a satirist, often in conjunction with his television roles. The pop trio Det Brune Punktum, including him along with Peter Frödin and Hella Joof, released the full-length albums Far Brugte Ikke Noget (2002) and Mor -- Skyld Med Skyld Pa (2004), the former of which was a commercial blockbuster, reaching number two on the Danish albums chart. He was also a member of the group Lex & Klatten, a quartet -- also comprised of Frödin and Joof plus Paprika Steen -- that released an eponymous album in 2003. The best of his songs, as performed by Brygmann and others (e.g., Frödin, Lisa Nilsson, Wayne Hernandez, Tina Dickow, Søs Fenger), were compiled for release in 2009 as Brygmann's Bedste Sange. Released by Sony Music, the compilation was a Top Five hit on the Danish albums chart.
