Márama

Known for their infectious blend of cumbia and Latin pop music, Márama is a cumbia band formed in 2014, in Montevideo, Uruguay. The brainchild of Rombai's Fer Vázquez and singer Agustín Casanova, the group's original lineup also included Marcos Ifrán, Alejandro Vázquez, Pablo Arnoletti, and Martín Zina. The band quickly garnered attention with their debut singles “Todo Comenzó Bailando” and “Loquita,” making it to the Top 100 most listened-to songs in Bolivia in 2014. The following year, Márama took the Latin American charts by storm with their studio debut Todo Comenzó Bailando, which reached Number 1 in Argentina and Uruguay, earning gold and double platinum certifications. Their meteoric rise to fame continued with a sold-out show at Montevideo's Municipal Velodrome, followed by a biographical documentary titled Marama - Rombai - El Viaje in 2016. Closing the year as the most-played artist on streaming platforms in Argentina, Márama continued their winning streak with an award-winning performance at the 2017 Viña del Mar International Song Festival and an appearance in the Mexican telenovela Mi Marido Tiene Familia. Despite their ever-growing popularity, Márama disbanded in 2018 due to internal conflicts. However, in September 2021, vocalist Agustín Casanova confirmed the band's reunion during the final episode of Got Talent Uruguay's second season. Later that year, the group made a triumphant comeback with the single "Ya No Llora," which cracked the Top 10 in Argentina and reached the Top 5 in both Uruguay and Chile. In 2022, Márama collaborated with artists like Luciano Pereyra ("Aunque Te Enamores"), Nacho ("La Culpa"), and Migrantes ("Nuestro Amor Regresa"). 2023 marked the release of the singles "Dame un Besito" featuring Rodrigo Tapari and "Enemigos."
