Mamta Sharma

Born on September 7, 1980 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India, Mamta Sharma found fame with the 2011 song "Munni Badnaam Hui" from 2010 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film Dabangg, for which she won a glittering array of awards including Best Playback Singer (Female) at the 56th Filmfare Awards. She began sowing the seeds for her career as a playback singer while still at school, performing in competitions, before upgrading to marriages and birthday parties and adding her voice to a number of albums in the bhojpuri (Hindustani classical music) sphere. She went on to amass a number of pop-folk and Indian pop tracks and hits, including 2012's "Fevicol Se," featured in the movie Dabangg 2, and "Kevvu Keka," featured in the movie Gabbar Singh, 2013's "Tooh," featured in the movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and 2018's "Ae Raja," featured in the movie Jaane Kyun De Yaaron. Mamta Sharma, who sings in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali and Marathi, joined forces with Shaheer Sheikh in 2021 to release the simmering single "Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai."
