Kei

Kei is the stage name of K-pop singer Kim Ji-yeon, who kickstarted her music career as a member of the girl group Lovelyz before releasing Over and Over, her debut EP as a solo artist, in 2019. Kei was born on March 20, 1995, in Incheon's Bupyeong District in northwestern South Korea. She joined Lovelyz as the group's lead singer in November 2014. Girls' Invasion, the group's debut album, was released that same month and reached Number 7 on the Circle Album Chart. The group released a number of EPs, single albums, and compilations during the years that followed, topping the Circle Album Chart for the first time with 2017's Now, We. Meanwhile, Kei began pursuing projects outside of the group, including acting roles in web series like 2016's Matching! Boys Archery Club and theater productions like 2017's At The Age of Thirty. She released music on her own, too, beginning with her contribution to 2015's Oh My Venus soundtrack and continuing with songs like her 2016 collaborative single "Y," which also featured Myundo and Bumzu. "Y" reached Number 49 in South Korea, but Kei's Top 10 successes were limited to her work with Lovelyz until 2019, when she released the Over and Over EP. Featuring the lead single "I Go," Over and Over charted at Number 7 and reignited Kei's solo career, which continued with tracks like 2021's "A Fairy Tale" and 2023's "Love Song."
