Joyce Chu
The Malaysian Chinese pop singer, actress, and YouTube star Joyce Chu was born in Johor Bahru on March 7, 1997. She launched her career at 17 years old and landed a viral hit with her debut single, "Malaysia Chabor," whose accompanying music video earned more than 28 million views. Her first EP, the self-titled Joyce Chu, was released one year later. "I Miss U," the EP's lead single, expanded Chu's popularity on YouTube, where the song racked up 60 million views and inspired a sequel, "I Miss U 2.0," featuring Malaysian hip-hop artist Namewee. After starring in the Singaporean movie Young & Fabulous and the Chinese reality TV show House of Remix, Chu released her first solo album, Where It All Started, in 2017. She continued balancing her acting and singing careers during the years that followed, starring in television series like I, Myself and Produce Camp 2020 while continuing to record singles like "老公公老婆婆."
