Jaurim
Fronted by vocalist Kim Yoon-ah, Jaurim is a South Korean rock band whose award-winning career spans more than two decades. Yoon-ah, bassist Kim Jin-man, guitarist Lee Sun-kyu, and drummer Goo Tae-hoon began performing together under the name "Full Count" in 1993. They changed their name to Jaurim in 1997 and released their debut album, Purple Heart, later that year. Although the record failed to generate much buzz outside the band's hometown of Seoul, South Korea, Jaurim earned national attention with 1998's Lover, which peaked at Number 18 on the Gaon Album Chart. A breakthrough album for the band, Lover earned Jaurium an Mnet Asian Music Award for "Best Rock Performance" in 1999 and paved the way for a long string of Top 40 successes. Records like 2000's The Wonderland and 2002's 04 followed, with 2004's All You Need is Love marking the band's first time charting within the Top 5 in South Korea. Meanwhile, Kim Yoon-ah launched a side career as a solo artist, sporadically releasing albums without sidelining Jarium success. 2005's Ode to Youth and 2008's Ruby Sapphire Diamond both climbed to Number 5, and Jarium reached an all-time commercial peak with Goodbye, Grief, which climbed to Number 3 in 2013. Following a short hiatus, the band returned with 2018's self-titled Jaurim and and the 2021 release Love Forever.
