GERARDO DIAZ Y SU GERARQUIA

Gerardo Díaz y su Gerarquía is a musical group from La Calera, state of Guerrero, Mexico. Led by singer and songwriter Gerardo Díaz, the band has made a name for itself as one of the most popular acts playing Regional Mexican music and boosting its popularity in the United States and Latin America. Notably, the band combines elements of traditional Tierra Caliente music with other musical genres from the various parts of rural Mexico. Gerardo Díaz y su Gerarquía was formed in 2018, after Gerardo Díaz left his former group Banda Los Costeños. The group hit the ground running, releasing both their debut album Pa' los Mal Agradecidos and their sophomore effort Composiciones y No Imitaciones during their first year of existence. Soon the group achieved a greater level of international success with 2019’s Amistad y Pesos. Their third album contained the hit “Mi Última Caravana,” a rumination on death and legacy which resonated widely with audiences. In 2020, the group won the audience award at the Premios TVyNovelas for Musical Release of the Year. In 2021, Gerardo Díaz y su Gerarquía released their fourth full-length album Yo Soy de la Sierra, which was promoted by the single “Monedas y Billetes” featuring Los Players de Tuzantla.
