Emil Stabil
Born Emil Stabell Petersen and based in Aarhus, Denmark, Emil first began recording music with his friend and collaborator, Lil Producer, in a home studio. Emil Stabil's career started as a light-hearted hobby, but after a string of successful singles, his 2015 hit EP pushed him into the heart of the Nordic hip-hop scene.
He started putting out tracks through streaming platforms like YouTube and Soundcloud, gaining traction with songs such as 'Er Det en Fugl' and 'Swimmingpool'. Meanwhile, in 2014, he, Young Bong and Lil Producer formed their own indie label, Lil Label, laying the groundwork for Emil's breakout hit.
Emil's 2015 debut EP, 'Emil Stabil', was a top 10 album chart hit, sticking there for three months, producing the platinum single 'Allerede Is' and going gold in the process. That year he picked up three nominations at the Danish Music Awards in the 'Danish Newcomer of the Year', 'Best Urban Release' and 'Best Music Video' categories.
Since his eponymous EP debuted Emil has played a slew of Nordic festivals, including the likes of Roskilde Festival, Iceland Airwaves, Smukfest, Slottsfjell, Oyafestivalen and Gron Koncert. He has gone on to have success with singles including 'Over Alt', '+1' and 'En Sang' featuring Gucci Mane.
