Deep Fried

Born in England, but based in Stockholm, Sweden, rapper Deep Fried released his debut single, ‘Chanel Girl’, for the Swedish Mega label in February 1994. It was dedicated to the model in the perfume advert for Chanel No. 9. He had previously enjoyed a varied background, having flown to Barbados when he was 16 years old, where he took various jobs including working in a bar. It was there he first began to rap and write his own lyrics. He signed to Polydor Records in the UK on his return but the limited success of ‘Chanel Girl’ saw him dropped from their roster soon afterwards.
