Crash Kelly
Crash Kelly was founded in 2002 by Toronto, Canada-based session musician Sean Kelly -- an avowed fan of pop-savvy '70s hard rockers like Cheap Trick, Kiss, and Alice Cooper, and unapologetic disciple of English glam rock icon Marc Bolan. Patterning Crash Kelly predominantly on Bolan's ubiquitous T. Rex, Kelly backed himself with second guitarist Allister Thompson, bassist Jeff Pearce, and drummer Eric Herrmann before unleashing an independently recorded debut album entitled Penny Pills, in 2003. Regular touring across the U.S. and Canada ensued, and Crash Kelly soon found themselves courted by L.A.'s Liquor and Poker Music, which duly reissued the first album and signed them on for the second, 2006's Electric Satisfaction.
