BIYO
Nashville-based production duo BIYO arrived in 2016 with the deconstructed R&B sound of an online single entitled "Bliss." Going by their first names only, the pair of Sam and Grayson presented a restrained and sometimes even hallucinogenic approach to more mainstream R&B sounds, infusing warped synths and falsetto vocals over minimal but prominently mixed rhythms. The duo leaked several more singles of their own throughout 2016 as well as some remixes for acts like Kaptan and Miike Snow. BIYO signed to the South by Sea Music label and began work toward a full-length release.
