Bed Wettin' Bad Boys

The Sydney-based garage punk quartet Bed Wettin' Bad Boys formed while Nic Warnock (who runs the R.I.P. Society label) and Joe Sukit (bassist of Royal Headache) were playing in a band called Carburetor. The other guys in the band didn't like to practice, so the duo started having secret practices, then decided to start their own band instead. Roping in Warnock's younger brother Ben (who plays in Red Red Krovvy), they began working on songs that had a fiery punk energy and a heart of pop gold. They released two singles, 2010's Best Band in Sydney/Worst Band in Sydney and 2011's Nobody Else, on R.I.P. Society as a three-piece, switching instruments from song to song. They soon decided they needed a full-time drummer and worked with a number of local musicians, including Shortty of Royal Headache, but chose Doug Gibson, who learned how to play drums to join the band. This solidified the lineup with Sukit on guitar and vocals, Nic Warnock on bass and vocals, and Ben Warnock on guitar. An American tour in 2011 with Royal Headache served to tighten up their sound, and they went into the recording studio in 2012 to record their debut album. Ready for Boredom was released by R.I.P. Society in early 2013, and had a raw energy and melodic power that fans of Royal Headache and bands of their ilk would surely appreciate. The band stayed busy the next couple years playing shows while Sukit also recorded and toured with Royal Headache, Nick Warnock continued to run R.I.P. Society, and Ben Warnock made an album with Red Red Krovvy. The foursome also spent time in the studio with producer John Hunter working on a second record. It took a long time to be completed, but Rot was eventually released in November of 2017 by a trio of labels -- R.I.P. Society in Australia, What's Yr Rupture? in North America, and Agitated Records in Europe.
