Amar Sandhu

Born January 6, 1990, in Dallas, Texas, Amar Sandhu is a Punjabi and Hindi singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his album New Era (2015) and the hits “Rooftop Party,” “Replaceable,” and “Double Addi.”. Raised in Rockwell, Texas, he began his musical career by remixing Punjabi songs and eventually become a DJ. Discovered by Houston, Texas-based DJ collective Dhol Beat International (DBI), Amar Sandhu released his first single, “Ni Udaleh,” in 2011. He released several more singles as well as coming to prominence for a Punjabi remix of Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake,” which featured vocalist Mickey Singh. Amar Sandhu continued his collaboration with Mickey Singh on his single “Double Addi,” which raised his commercial profile in the US. Collaborating with producer Pranna, he released his long-awaited debut album, New Era, in 2015. Including the singles “Tonight,” “Replaceable” (featuring Fateh), and “Rooftop Party,” the album was a success and introduced Amar Sandhu to a larger audience. He toured to promote the album as well as subsequent singles like “How Many Shots” (2017), “Lover’s Island” (2018), “Udhas” (2018), “Chitta” (2019), “Not Alone” (2020), and “Drug” (2020). Amar Sandhu released the EP Long Weekends in 2020 and followed it with several more singles including “Say Yes” (2022), “Mera Ki Ae” (2023) and “Cotton” (2023). Throughout his career, Amar Sandhu collaborated with many artists on their releases, most notably Sabih Nawab (“Dance Floor”), Haji Springer (“Speed”), Raxstar (“Rewind”), and Guru Randhawa (“Moon Rise”).
