Alexander Pappas

Australia-based singer/songwriter Alexander Pappas first made a name for himself as part of Hillsong Young & Free, co-writing some of the worship group's biggest hits, including "Alive" and "End of Days," before embarking on his own solo journey. Issuing his debut EP, IDAHO, in 2021, he followed it up with the seven-track album, AMERICAN DREAM, in late 2022. Born in Southern California and raised in the small town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Pappas started playing guitar at the age of 15 at his local church before leading worship just two years later. Inspired by Hillsong's contemporary take on worship, he upped sticks and moved to Sydney, Australia at 19 to enroll in the church's International Leadership College. After three years of study Pappas became a youth pastor for the church and started to lead and co-write material for their Young & Free group. The group toured and issued albums such as 2013's We Are Young & Free and 2018's III which featured tracks co-written by Pappas, including the anthemic "Alive." Following his success with Young & Free, Pappas inked a deal with Capitol and issued his debut solo single "K.O." in 2021. The EP, IDAHO, followed that same year before Pappas released his debut album, the seven-track AMERICAN DREAM, in late 2022.
