Le Mädchenchor Hannover et le Knabenchor Hannover présentent un recueil de raretés de la Bibliothèque Herzog August de Wolfenbüttel (Allemagne), fondée en 1572. Cet album emporte l'auditeur entre 1566 et 1701, à la cour de Wölfenbüttel, et parmi les cercles culturels des cités protestantes de Freiberg, Helmstedt, leipzig, Lüneburg, Minden, Nuremberg, Tonna, et en Italie. Un enregistrement qui fait entendre des compositions de Maddalena Caulana (c1544-c1590), première femme de la musique occidentale à voir publier sa musique, Andreas Hammerschmidt, Jacobus Peetrinus (1553-1591), Johann Schelle (1648-1701), Otto Gibel (1612-1682)...
