Deux jours avant sa performance au Super Bowl 2022 aux côtés de Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg et Eminem, voilà que la chanteuse de 51 ans sort un quatorzième album, Good Morning Gorgeous, histoire de nous rappeler que son statut royal est justifié. Dans le R&B, le rap et au-delà, elle fait figure d’autorité. C’est ce qui lui permet de s’entourer d’Anderson .Paak sur l’excellent Here With Me, de Fivio Foreign, figure de la Brooklyn drill, sur On Top, ou encore du suave Usher sur Need Love, tout en restant constamment pertinente. Côté production, Good Morning Gorgeous est un mastodonte qui pioche ses influences aussi bien dans le dancehall que dans la trap la plus sombre.
