Mott
This short-lived unit was founded in 1975. Morgan Fisher (b. 1 January 1950, London, England; keyboards), Overend Watts (b. Peter Watts, 13 May 1947, Birmingham, England; bass/vocals) and Dale Griffin (b. 24 October 1948, Ross-on-Wye, England; drums), each formerly of Mott The Hoople, decided to drop the earlier suffix upon adding Nigel Benjamin (vocals) and Ray Major (guitar) to the line-up. Their albums proved sadly disappointing, provoking unfavourable comparisons with their previous, highly successful incarnation. The departure of Benjamin precipitated yet another change and, having invited ex-Medicine Head singer John Fiddler to join, the unit changed its name to British Lions.
