Lady London

Lady London is a rapper who excels at complex lyrical designs, precision flows, and a direct delivery that communicates dominance and control. She organically grew from posting videos of herself freestyling in her car to self-released mixtapes, ultimately signing with Def Jam for the release of her debut studio album, 2023's S.O.U.L. (Signs of Universal Love). Lady London was born Zaire Stewart in New York, and was raised in New Jersey. During her college years, she was involved in poetry while studying sports medicine and chemistry, participating in poetry open mics and performing original work regularly. Her interest in spoken word transitioned to rap in 2018 when she posted a video of herself reciting a poem while stuck in traffic. The video went viral, eventually being viewed millions of times and attracting the attention of record labels. Instead of signing with a label straight away, she decided to go the independent route, taking up the Lady London moniker and posting weekly freestyle videos while learning her way around the recording studio. She released multiple singles as well as the mixtapes Lady Like: The Boss Tape and Murrille collaboration I Kant Make This Shit Up (both of which came out in January 2022), while also pursuing work in film and television. In April 2023, Lady London appeared as a featured artist alongside Lola Brooke on the Ciara single "Da Girls (Girls Mix)," and later that year, she released her first album, S.O.U.L. (Signs of Universal Love). Issued on Def Jam, the set included guest appearances from Capella Grey, Jeremih, and Dreezy, who was featured on the single "Yea Yea."
