Jarrell Huang
Singaporean singer Jarrell Huang was born in Singapore on October 14, 2000. At the age of seven, Huang participated in children’s singing competition as part of television game show The Sheng Siong Show, which he later won, leading to his debut as an actor in Singaporean Chinese drama Together (2009). In 2011, he participated in yet another televised music competition, Chinese Million Star, where he became the youngest contestant to finish in the top ten, releasing his debut Mandarin EP Little Prince’s Adventure three years later. In 2018, he returned to the reality television stage, winning Singaporean-Chinese competition SPOP Sing! recording the theme song to television drama My One In a Million; “就是你就是你” soon after, which was nominated for Best Theme Song at the 2021 Star Awards. In February 2020, Huang collaborated with singer JJ Neo on “The Light” which was released by Mediacorp in order to encourage resilience and positivity amongst Singaporean citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2022, Huang performed on two soundtracks; the theme song to Singaporean drama In Safe Hands, entitled “守护星 (新传媒电视剧《守护星》主题曲)” and "不遗憾 (新传媒电视剧《卫国先锋 2》插曲)" from series When Duty Calls 2, releasing his solo Mandopop single “最傻的错 " in June that year.
