Heart Attack Man

A riffy, rousing, and appealingly noisy pop-punk act from Cleveland, Ohio, Heart Attack Man parlayed a pair of self-released EPs into a contract with Triple Crown which released their debut album, The Manson Family, in 2017. Over the coming years the band remained prolific, churning out myriad singles, EPs, split releases, and a 2019 follow-up album Fake Blood. Their sound grew heavier and darker in tone on 2021's Thoughtz & Prayerz EP and the more introspective Lil Aaron-produced Freak of Nature album, which appeared in 2023. Heart Attack Man originated as the solo endeavor of singer/guitarist Eric Egan in 2013. Evolving quickly into a four-piece band, they issued a self-released, self-titled EP, followed in 2014 by the Acid Rain EP on the Mayfly label. The quartet of Egan, guitarist Tyler Sickels, bassist Seamus Groman, and drummer Adam Paduch spent the remainder of the year touring North America before starting work on their full-length debut at Philadelphia's Headroom Studios. Produced by Modern Baseball's Ian Farmer, The Manson Family was released by Triple Crown Records in 2017. Teaming up with fellow Ohioans McCafferty, Heart Attack Man recorded a split EP that arrived in early 2018 on Take This to Heart Records. The band took a somewhat darker turn on sophomore LP, 2019's Fake Blood, a more melancholic, but still aggressive record. Following tours with Boston Manor and Knuckle Puck, Heart Attack Man satiated fans with 2021's Thoughtz & Prayerz, a punishing five-song EP that yielded some highly streamed tracks like "Pitch Black" and "Leap Year." After leaving Triple Crown, the band reemerged in 2023 with their more introspective third album, Freak of Nature. Rife with themes of isolation, acceptance, and personal grown, the album was produced by Lil Aaron.
