Flow Dan

Born Marc Veira on March 17, 1980, in Bow, London, England, the grime rapper / MC is better known by his stage name Flowdan. A founding member of UK collective Pay As U Go, he was at the forefront of the garage movement alongside Wiley, DJ Slimzee, and many others. When that group broke up, many of the members formed Roll Deep in 2001, a collective that helped to usher in the grime movement. He released his first two solo singles – “Big Mic Man” (2002) and “Skydiver” (2003) – while also appearing live and in the studio with Roll Deep. In 2007, he collaborated with producer The Bug on the single “Skeng” (featuring Killa P), which was the first of several collaborations with the producer. Flowdan’s first album, Original Dan, was issued in 2009. When Roll Deep went on an indefinite hiatus in 2013, he took his solo career more seriously and released the Serious Business EP in 2014. He followed that with Disaster Piece (2016), the One Shell Fits All EP (2018), Full Metal Jacket (2019), and The Red Pill EP (2020). While he had already incorporated many genres into his music – including garage, dubstep, grime, and hip-hop – he continued to explore new sounds on his singles “Raise Up” (2022), “Rumble” (co-produced by Skrillex), and “Pepper,” which was a successful foray into drill music.
