Fin Fang Foom

The dynamic trio Fin Fang Foom applies subtle arrangements to hardcore rock structures for a subtly broad, post-rock sound that would perfectly compliment groups like Slint, June of 44, and the Mercury Program. Six-string guitarist Michael Triplett, bassist Edwin Sanchez, and drummer P. Enriquez formed Fin Fang Foom in 1996 in Jacksonville, FL. In 1997, following the loss of Enriquez, the band enlisted Michael Glass as their new drummer and released their first 7". In 1998, the group relocated to indie rock haven, Chapel Hill, NC. Following in the footsteps of touring bands like Black Flag and the Minutemen, Fin Fang Foom made live shows their end goal, and in the process sold copies of a CD EP, a 10", and a 7". By 2001, Fin Fang Foom had finished and released their debut album, Textures, Structure and the Condition of Moods, on Lovitt Records. The record brilliantly mixes angular, driving Black Flag rhythms with methodical arrangements and captivating textures to create a true work of post-punk.
