Africans With Mainframes
Africans with Mainframes are an experimental acid house duo from Chicago consisting of Jamal Moss (Hieroglyphic Being) and Noleian Reusse. Like much of Moss' output, the duo's tracks are gritty and unpolished, recorded during spontaneous jam sessions on analog hardware. Their track titles reflect themes of space, science fiction, and African history. Africans with Mainframes made their recording debut in 2001, with an untitled EP presented by Chicago house pioneer Steve Poindexter and released by Moss' Mathematics Recordings. Over the next decade and a half, further EPs appeared on Mathematics as well as labels such as Crème Organization and Bio Rhythm. The duo made their full-length debut in 2016, when Soul Jazz Records issued K.M.T.
