The first taste from the recording sessions for 12 Stones’ fourth album, the Only Easy Day Was Yesterday EP is anchored by the “We Are One” single, an active rock anthem with a hazy empowerment anthem. It’s neither as metallic as the opening “Welcome to the End” or as sensitive as the slow-grooving power ballad “Tomorrow Comes Today,” arriving somewhere between the two extremes, while the rest of the EP mines the same ground they have on their previous two records. There’s not much unexpected but it is new, which may be enough for fans waiting for the next full-length from 12 Stones.
