Avis aux amateurs du jazz langoureux de Norah Jones : il y a de fortes chances d'être décontenancé par cet album, qu'elle partage avec quatre compagnons de musique. Avis aux amateurs de country : il peut y avoir de la surprise de voir ses classiques du genre interprétés avec autant de modernité.
Pourtant, The Little Willies n'ont d'autre ambition ici que de rendre hommage à ceux dont ils idolâtrent les mélodies depuis longtemps. Ainsi, le « Roly Poly » de Fred Rose est ici réinterprété, tout comme « I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive » de Hank Williams, « Gotta Get Drunk and Nightlife » de Willie Nelson ou encore « Best of All Possible Worlds » de Kriss Kristofferson.
Reprendre ces standards déjà débordant de charme n'est pas tâche aisée, et The Little Willies relèvent le défi avec brio. Le chant délicat et suave de Norah Jones se marie à merveille avec celui de Richard Julian, tout simplement envoûtant. The Little Willies ne se résume cependant pas à une succession de reprises, l'auditeur a également le droit de découvrir des compositions originales comme le savoureux « Lou Reed ». Ce morceau termine avec panache cet album humble et authentique.
