Das im November 2021 erschienene Brilliant Adventure stellt David Bowies Jahre zwischen 1992 und 2001 in den Mittelpunkt. Höhepunkt dieser umfangreichen Box mit mehr als 130 Tracks bildet Toy, ein in New York zwischen Juli und Oktober 2000 eingespieltes, erstmals veröffentlichtes Opus, auf dem der Thin White Duke seine Songs aus seinen Mod-Anfangszeiten in den Sixties wieder hervorholt (als er  unter dem Namen Davy Jones & The Lower Third und Davie Jones & The King Bees unterwegs war), um sie im Klang seiner Zeit zu präsentieren. Es sind eigene, neu interpretierte Stücke, die Bowie noch bevor er berühmt wurde, im Wesentlichen gemeinsam mit Earl Slick an der Gitarre, Gail Ann Dorsey am Bass, Mike Garson an den Keyboards und Sterling Campbell am Schlagzeug komponiert hatte. Außer dem Originalalbum enthält diese Toy Box zwei zusätzliche Platten mit Alternative Takes und Akustikaufnahmen von Stücken aus dem gleichen Repertoire. Dieser x-te Zaubertrick des Idols mit einer Art Zeitreise wird die Herzen der Hardcore-Fans des Stars höher schlagen lassen, welcher noch dazu genau einen Tag nach der Veröffentlichung dieser Box 75 geworden wäre. © Marc Zisman/Qobuz

Albumbeschreibung

Das im November 2021 erschienene Brilliant Adventure stellt David Bowies Jahre zwischen 1992 und 2001 in den Mittelpunkt. Höhepunkt dieser umfangreichen Box mit mehr als 130 Tracks bildet Toy, ein in New York zwischen Juli und Oktober 2000 eingespieltes, erstmals veröffentlichtes Opus, auf dem der Thin White Duke seine Songs aus seinen Mod-Anfangszeiten in den Sixties wieder hervorholt (als er  unter dem Namen Davy Jones & The Lower Third und Davie Jones & The King Bees unterwegs war), um sie im Klang seiner Zeit zu präsentieren. Es sind eigene, neu interpretierte Stücke, die Bowie noch bevor er berühmt wurde, im Wesentlichen gemeinsam mit Earl Slick an der Gitarre, Gail Ann Dorsey am Bass, Mike Garson an den Keyboards und Sterling Campbell am Schlagzeug komponiert hatte. Außer dem Originalalbum enthält diese Toy Box zwei zusätzliche Platten mit Alternative Takes und Akustikaufnahmen von Stücken aus dem gleichen Repertoire.
