Mit Der Ruf meines Herzens präsentiert Oliver Haidt den Nachfolger zu seinen Nummer-Eins-Erfolgen Mitten ins Herz (2013) und Liebe pur (2015) vor - und schaffte es prompt wieder an die Spitzenposition der österreichischen Charts. Der Steirer, der 1998 mit dem Song "Ich denk an Rhodos" in der Schlagerszene auftauchte, setzt einmal mehr auf Popschlager rund um die Themen Liebe, Romantik und sonnige Tage, rückt diesmal aber den Discofox-Sound mehr in den Vordergrund. Allerdings bauen nicht alle Lieder auf tanzbaren Beats auf: "Sempre per te" verwendet akustische Klänge, mit "Das schönste Geschenk" ist auch ein weihnachtlicher Song zu hören.
