Lah Pat
Somewhere between sultry R&B and laid-back but powerful hip-hop, Lah Pat creates songs that are smooth and refined but also ready to get the party started. His Ginuwine-sampling 2022 track "Rodeo" is a prime example of his sound, and the song spawned multiple remixes, including versions that featured new material from Flo Milli.
Lah Pat was born Patrick Simmons. He grew up in New Orleans in a musical family but relocated to Houston, Texas, when it was time to start a music career. Some of his earliest tracks arrived in 2020, and after releasing the singles "Mind Made Up" and "Ignored," his 2022 song "Rodeo" started earning him significant attention. The first version of the song (built around a sample from Ginuwine's 1996 sexed-up hit "Pony") featured a cameo from Big Jade, but its popularity quickly necessitated multiple remixes. Among these, a 2023 version of "Rodeo" featured rapper Flo Milli and quickly racked up tens of millions in streaming numbers. Also that year, he delivered the stand-alone track "Kamikaze."
