Jessie Woo
Although Jessie Woo became known through social media and her appearances on television shows such as Love & Hip-Hop: Miami, the reality TV star, host, and comedian is also a singer and unreserved songwriter specializing in contemporary R&B. She released her first recordings, including the Moods of a Cancer EP, in 2019.
Woo grew up in Montreal and then Miami, where she attended and graduated from Florida International University. After she relocated to New York, she built up a social media following that led to work as a television host and appearances on BET's I'll Apologize Later and VH-1's Love & Hip Hop: Miami. An aspiring singer since early childhood -- she started singing in church -- Woo independently released "Lady Like," her first commercial single, in March 2019. Four months later, through a distribution deal with major-label Epic (via KSR), she returned with the contemporary R&B-oriented Moods of a Cancer. The EP featured "Vacation," an Afro-Caribbean/dance-pop hybrid produced by DJ SwanQo (Cardi B's "Get Up 10"), and registered on one of Billboard's regional Heatseekers charts.
