Vier Jahre nach Im Auge des Sturms legen Santiano mit dem im Oktober 2021 veröffentlichten Wenn die Kälte kommt ihre fünfte Studioplatte vor. Diesmal hat die beliebte Shanty-Band ein Konzeptalbum aufgenommen: Die 13 Songs erinnern an Roald Amundsens and Robert Falcon Scotts Wettlauf zum Südpol im Jahre 1911, docken aber auch an die Expeditionen des modernen Polar- und Klimaforschers Arved Fuchs an. Die Seefahrt-Songs sind im gewohnt eingängigen Rock- und Folk-Mix der Band gehalten, der diesmal die Schlagerelemente noch etwas verstärkt - und nebenbei kann die Story auch als Parallele zur Gesellschaftsspaltung in Pandemiezeiten gelesen werden. Als Bonus-Track ist der Shanty-Klassiker "Wellerman" enthalten, den die Band mit Folksänger Nathan Evans aufnahm. In der Deluxe-Version sind die Songs zusätzlich in Erzählungen eingebettet. Das Album kam wie alle Santiano-Alben auf Platz 1 der deutschen Charts.

Vier Jahre nach Im Auge des Sturms legen Santiano mit dem im Oktober 2021 veröffentlichten Wenn die Kälte kommt ihre fünfte Studioplatte vor. Diesmal hat die beliebte Shanty-Band ein Konzeptalbum aufgenommen: Die 13 Songs erinnern an Roald Amundsens and Robert Falcon Scotts Wettlauf zum Südpol im Jahre 1911, docken aber auch an die Expeditionen des modernen Polar- und Klimaforschers Arved Fuchs an. Die Seefahrt-Songs sind im gewohnt eingängigen Rock- und Folk-Mix der Band gehalten, der diesmal die Schlagerelemente noch etwas verstärkt - und nebenbei kann die Story auch als Parallele zur Gesellschaftsspaltung in Pandemiezeiten gelesen werden. Als Bonus-Track ist der Shanty-Klassiker "Wellerman" enthalten, den die Band mit Folksänger Nathan Evans aufnahm. In der Deluxe-Version sind die Songs zusätzlich in Erzählungen eingebettet. Das Album kam wie alle Santiano-Alben auf Platz 1 der deutschen Charts.
