Thys

Thys, born Thijs de Vlieger in 1982 in Groningen, The Netherlands, is a multifaceted musician, composer and producer with a rich and diverse career in the music industry. Known predominantly as a member of Dutch EDM trio Noisia, who were pioneers of the drum & bass and breakbeat genres, Thys, along with Nik Roos and Martijn van Sonderen released several albums and EPs, headlined major festivals and scored video game titles such as DmC Devil May Cry and Motorstorm: Apocalypse. Thys's artistic journey extended beyond his work with the group, with 2017 EP Tetris, Mon Amour marking his debut solo release, where he collaborated with Dutch contemporary dance collective Club Guy & Roni. Thys's journey continued to evolve in the years that followed, from composing scores for live percussionists to receiving commissions to create music for orchestras and multimedia installations, earning him the Gouden Viooltje award for classical music from the North Netherlands Orchestra. 2022 saw a collaboration with Amon Tobin on Ghostcards as well as  experimental EP Unmoved Mover / Unwound and in 2023, Thys returned with a remix of Cesco's track "Move Too Slow" followed by EPs Shoulder to Shoulder and Extra Playtime with Nikki Nair and Breaka.
